In commemoration of the 31st anniversary of the Public Ministry, the 2025 Quinquenio Ceremony was held under the motto:
“Honor to the trajectory of service to the institution and the country.”

The ceremony’s purpose was to pay tribute to those who have dedicated between 5 and 40 years of service to the institution and, through it, to the people of Guatemala.

The event was presided over by Mrs. María Consuelo Porras Argueta, Attorney General and Chief of the Public Ministry, who was accompanied by Mr. Jonás Rodolfo Hernández Pérez, Administrative Chief, as well as other authorities who participated at various points during the ceremony. Among them were Mrs. Julia María Juárez, Second Deputy Secretary General; Mr. Estuardo Ávila, Secretary Against Corruption; Mrs. Lucrecia Vásquez, Secretary of Women’s Affairs; Mrs. Vivian García, Director of Human Resources; Mrs. Gabriela Escribá, Administrative Director; Mr. Manuel Zamora, Acting Chief of the Personnel Development Department; Mr. Otto Santizo, National Coordinator of the Integrated Information System; and Mr. Óscar Sagastume Álvarez, Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

During the event, diplomas, commemorative pins, and plaques were awarded to employees celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 40 years of service. Each milestone recognized represents a story of silent commitment, continuous work, and profound dedication to justice.

In her remarks, Attorney General Mrs. María Consuelo Porras Argueta expressed that this recognition is not only for the time served but also for the quality of work performed, the ethics with which the service was rendered, and the persistence demonstrated.

She thanked the staff for their tireless work that generates a positive impact on society, for their loyalty and dedication, and for being a fundamental part of the history that the Public Ministry continues to build.

For his part, Mr. Jonás Rodolfo Hernández Pérez, Administrative Chief, highlighted that beyond years, the commemorative event celebrates stories of silent effort, intense workdays, and ethical conviction.

He emphasized that the ceremony was not just a formality but a tribute to persistence and vocation. He expressed gratitude to the personnel for showing that when work is done with passion and responsibility, it is possible to transform lives and strengthen institutions.

On behalf of the honored personnel, Mrs. Lily Blanca Cojulún Marroquín, Acting Chief of the Internal Affairs Prosecutor’s Office, stated that receiving this recognition is a source of profound pride and gratitude, motivating continued service with firm steps and conviction, leaving a mark on Guatemala’s present and future.

The Public Ministry recognizes in each honoree women and men who, year by year, demonstrate dedication, take steadfast steps toward justice, and are essential parts of the institution.
