S‑13 Dismantled: Harsh Justice for 11 Convicted Members

The Anti‑Extortion Prosecutor’s Office in San Marcos achieved significant success in securing criminal convictions against 11 confirmed members of Mara Salvatrucha (MS‑13). These individuals were active across multiple locations—including Guatemala City, Mixco, Ciudad Quetzal, Lo de Carranza (San Juan Sacatepéquez), as well as the departments of El Progreso and San Marcos.

The Criminal Trial Court for High-Risk Cases in Quetzaltenango rendered the sentencing as follows:

  • Yosseline A. (“Ivón”): 130 years, 4 months — convicted for criminal association, attempted murder of three individuals, two counts of murder, and conspiracy to commit murder.
  • Alison L. / Maryori L. (“Maryori” / “Barbie”): 130 years, 4 months — convicted for association, double murder, attempted murder of three individuals, and conspiracy to commit murder.
  • Esthephany A. (“Alejandra” / “Diabla”): 130 years — convicted for association, conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of murder, and three counts of attempted murder.
  • Carlos T. (“Animal”, “Animalito”, “Canche”): 105 years, 4 months — convicted for association, attempted murder of three individuals, and double murder.
  • Federico A. (“Lico”): 64 years, 4 months — convicted for association, conspiracy to commit murder, and complicity in murder of two individuals.
  • Kevin L.: 56 years — convicted for association and double murder.
  • Alan M.: 50 years — convicted for attempted murder of three individuals.
  • Anderson M. (“Tacua”) and Hernán S. (“Coco”): 31 years each — convicted for association and conspiracy to commit murder against a public official (a member of Congress).
  • Moisés L.: 31 years — convicted for association and conspiracy to commit murder of a merchant.
  • Daniel G.: 6 years — convicted for association only.

These individuals had been planning, coordinating, and executing high-impact violent crimes as part of the Mara Salvatrucha criminal structure.
