The Public Ministry, through its Institutional Integrity Committee and the Training Unit (Unicap), concluded the course “Application of the Disciplinary Regime of the Public Ministry,” aimed at strengthening continuous professional development of staff and promoting transparency in institutional administration.

The ceremony was presided over by Attorney General and Chief of the Public Ministry, Mrs. María Consuelo Porras Argueta, who affirmed that this training “reflects our firm institutional commitment to ongoing capacity building, transparency, and the fight against corruption.”

Mr. Estuardo Ávila, Anti-Corruption Secretary, emphasized that the course is part of the Institutional Integrity System and the digital transformation of the disciplinary regime — measures that will enable more agile, coordinated, and transparent disciplinary investigations and sanctions.

The training was directed at heads and deputy heads of the prosecutorial, technical, and administrative divisions, covering key legal elements including structure, functions, and procedural rules of the disciplinary regime. The legal framework underpinning the regime was also examined. Transversal modules included human rights, gender perspective, cultural and linguistic relevance, and victimology.

Participants received both theoretical instruction and practical tools to execute disciplinary mechanisms with greater precision, responsibility, and fairness across various institutional domains.

Also present at the closing were the Director of Unicap, the General Supervisor, the Coordinator of Disciplinary Procedures, as well as the President and members of the Disciplinary Boards.

This initiative reflects the Public Ministry’s resolve to enforce internal accountability, combat misconduct, support due process, and uphold the rule of law.
