The Criminal Structures Unit of the Human Trafficking Prosecutor`s Office, in coordination with the Regional Prosecutor and support from the National Civil Police, conducted three raids for search and seizure operations. The investigation suggests that establishments resembling spas may be involved in selling alcohol and illegal substances, potentially exploiting minors in human trafficking for sexual purposes.

In the first location, Bora Bora Spa in Guatemala City’s Zone 14, authorities seized 26 pieces of evidence, including cell phones, cash, items for sexual services, and financial documents. They took three witness statements, provided comprehensive assistance to 15 women present, and apprehended Nancy Paola Macario and Patricia Lucero Morales for promoting, facilitating, and benefiting from prostitution. The establishment was closed, and arrangements were made for its security.

In the second site, a branch of the same business in Zone 15, authorities seized 18 pieces of evidence, took three witness statements, and arrested Hugo Leonel Ajcuc Tacatic for promoting, facilitating, and benefiting from prostitution, and Renato José Cabrera Figueroa for remuneration related to prostitution promotion. The property was temporarily closed due to uncertainty about ownership or rental.

In the third establishment in Zone 13, information was gathered to support the ongoing investigation.
