In a ceremonial event held both in-person and virtually at the central headquarters, Dr. María Consuelo Porras Argueta, Attorney General of the Republic and Chief of the Public Ministry, inaugurated the Second Phase of the Digital Transformation Project in the Institutional Disciplinary Process.

Also present at the inauguration were the First Deputy General Secretary, Mr. Erick Eduardo Schaeffer Cabrera; the Anti-Corruption Secretary, Mr.  Miguel Estuardo Ávila Vásquez; the Coordinator of the Integrated Information System, Mr. Otto René Santizo; the General Supervisor, Mr. Víctor Hugo Alfaro Anleu; the Acting Chief of the Disciplinary Procedures Department, Mrs. María Gabriela Alonzo Rojas, and the Acting President of Disciplinary Boards, Mrs. Mary Ann Miller Orozco.

The Attorney General expressed that the launch of this second phase is a significant step for the institution as it strengthens the fight against corruption and impunity internally. The technological innovations contribute to efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency in disciplinary processes for both the prosecutorial and administrative areas.

These innovations provide a comprehensive system for the Disciplinary Regime process, enabling efficient interaction among the involved departments. She added that contributions and actions include continuous improvement and a maintenance mechanism involving user support, enhancements to operational modules, and access to alternative processes such as appeals and reviews in the disciplinary process.

The Secretary against Corruption stated that this action marks the beginning of a series of activities organized by the Public Prosecutor’s Office to commemorate the International Anti-Corruption Day. He emphasized the fundamental role of the Attorney General in the fight against corruption and impunity, outlining various actions taken during her tenure.

As part of the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan, the institution focuses on the 6th axis directly related to the Institutional Integrity System, strategically aiming to consolidate a culture of integrity and institutional transparency.

The Digital Transformation Project in the Institutional Disciplinary Process, coordinated by the Anti-Corruption Secretary, aims to expedite disciplinary process management through the development and implementation of computer tools. This second phase enhances advisory services in disciplinary procedures, establishes a digital record, and includes the disciplinary procedures module for the prosecutorial area. These innovations ensure that all disciplinary processes have a digital archive, facilitating access for all parties.
