Attorney General Evaluates the Work of Prosecutor Offices and Recognizes the Best Performers

The Attorney General of the Republic and Chief of the Public Ministry, Mrs. María Consuelo Porras Argueta, held a working meeting to evaluate the performance of the prosecution services across the country in 2024.

This meeting was in accordance with Article 39 of the Organic Law of the Public Ministry, which mandates that the head of the PM convene periodic meetings with prosecutors to conduct such evaluations.

The meeting included regional prosecutors, district prosecutors, section prosecutors, those from specialized units, municipal prosecutors, and municipal office teams, as well as assistant prosecutors and members of the Prosecutors’ Association.

Mrs. Porras Argueta was briefed by the prosecutors on their service in various areas of work, the reduction in case backlogs, and effectiveness in case resolutions. She also learned about efforts to maintain quality standards, including the retention of the ISO 9001:2015 certification across all offices and the ongoing work to achieve ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery certification.

These certifications are vital as they verify that the institution’s advances and best practices are analyzed and certified by an external body, ensuring the highest quality of service to citizens.
