To enhance the technical and operational expertise of prosecutorial personnel, Mrs. María Consuelo Porras Argueta, Attorney General of the Republic and Chief of the Public Ministry, inaugurated the specialized training titled: “Due Diligence in Processing Crime Scenes of Crimes Against Life and Personal Integrity, and Pertinent Investigation Procedures.”

This training initiative is coordinated by the Metropolitan Regional Prosecutor’s Office in collaboration with the Prosecutor’s Office for Crimes Against Life and Personal Integrity. It targets personnel from municipal prosecutor’s offices in Villa Nueva, Villa Canales, Palencia, Mixco, Chinautla, Santa Catarina Pinula, Amatitlán, and San Juan Sacatepéquez.

The training sessions are scheduled from Tuesday, June 17 to Friday, June 20, 2025, organized into various working groups.

During the inauguration, the Attorney General was accompanied by Mr. Dimas Jiménez, Metropolitan Regional Prosecutor; Mr. Erick Schaeffer Cabrera, Deputy Secretary General; Mr. Edwin Marroquín Azurdia, Section Prosecutor for Crimes Against Life and Personal Integrity; and Mr. Gerson Ariel Recinos Girón, Metropolitan District Prosecutor.

The training content is delivered by professionals from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRI) and the National Institute of Forensic Sciences of Guatemala (INACIF), focusing on the technical-scientific approach to crime scene processing.
