In a protocol ceremony held at the central headquarters of the Public Ministry, Mrs. María Consuelo Porras Argueta, Attorney General of the Republic and Chief of the Public Ministry, and Mrs. Ingrid Johana Romero Escribá, General Director of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF), signed an interinstitutional cooperation agreement for the operation of INACIF’s facilities at the Mixco Municipal Prosecutor’s Office.

The signing of this agreement allows INACIF to have an optimal and dignified space in the prosecutor’s office, thereby fulfilling its crucial role in the criminal process and strengthening the criminal investigations carried out by the Public Ministry for more efficient and effective prosecution.

Moreover, the authorities expressed the commitment of both institutions to offer the widest possible collaboration, ensuring effective coordination and communication for the proper fulfillment of the agreement’s objectives and commitments, thus providing quality service to the entire population of Mixco.

During the event, Mrs. Escribá thanked and presented a recognition to Mrs. Porras Argueta for the facilities provided in the Mixco Prosecutor’s Office.

The event was also attended by the Second Deputy Secretary General of the Public Ministry, Mrs. Gabriela Contreras, the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Jonas Hernández, and the Head of the INACIF Training Department, Vladimir Osmán Aguilar Guerra.

These actions contribute to the strengthening of the rule of law in Guatemala, ensuring that all its inhabitants receive adequate protection under the legal system.
