The Prosecutor’s Office for Narcotics Crimes and the National Civil Police, as part of the coordination efforts through the Interinstitutional Center Against Narcotics (CICNAG), continue to carry out actions aimed at countering the sale of illegal substances.

On March 20 and 21, several search warrants, inspections, and seizures of evidence were conducted at properties located in Guatemala City, Jutiapa, and the municipalities of Coatepeque, Quetzaltenango, and Samayac, Suchitepéquez.

As a result, marijuana, crack cocaine, and cocaine were seized, according to preliminary field tests. The drugs were prepared for street-level distribution. In addition, digital scales, empty containers for preparing illicit substances for sale, a mobile phone, and a SIM card were found.

In the municipality of San José Acatempa, Jutiapa, the apprehension of Óscar Rolando Pérez Jiménez was coordinated in flagrante delicto, and in Coatepeque, René Ezequiel Cadenas Marroquín and Miguel Ángel Steven Rodríguez Cos were arrested.
