On July 24, 2025, Mrs. María Consuelo Porras Argueta, Attorney General of the Republic and Chief of the Public Ministry, led an inspiring ceremony celebrating the winners of the “Good Prosecutorial Practices of Due Diligence in Cases of Sexual Crimes Against Children and Adolescents” contest.

Key figures including Mrs. Julia María Juárez (Second Deputy Secretary General), Mrs. Lucrecia Varinia Vásquez Abadía (Secretary of Women), Mrs. Olga Rubilia Monzón (Prosecutor for Childhood and Adolescence), and Sergio Raúl Ortiz (Training Unit Director) joined in applauding the tireless dedication of specialized prosecutorial teams.

This year’s focus was on the Prosecutor’s Office for Childhood and Adolescence — shining a spotlight on the courageous work protecting the most vulnerable, following prior recognitions of the Women’s and Femicide Prosecutor’s Offices.

With a call to keep fighting for justice, the Attorney General urged everyone to move forward “with heads held high and hearts fully committed” so that every child and adolescent can “dream without fear.”

Mrs. Vásquez Abadía praised the teams’ unwavering commitment and highlighted the historic progress since launching the Comprehensive Care Model for Childhood and Adolescence (MAINA) in 2019.

This excellence is manifest in rigorous investigative diligences, substantiated evidence, and well-founded indictments. The ultimate objective is to secure condemnatory verdicts that uphold the rights of child and adolescent victims, thereby effectuating due diligence alongside a reparative process that is dignified, holistic, and transformative.
