Public Ministry (MP) coordinated with support of the National Civil Police (PNC) apprehension for fugitive requested by U.S. Extraditable Warrant No. 20 -2023

Yuris Yovani López Lucas, also known as «Hummer», is wanted for trial by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas for the following charges:

Count I – Conspiracy of distributing five kilograms or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine, proving mens rea, that such substance would be unlawfully imported into the United States.

Count II – Conspiracy of laundering of monetary instruments.

Count III – Laundering of monetary instruments and promoting carrying on with this unlawful activity.

Count IV – Conspiracy of distributing five kilograms or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine, proving mens rea, that such substance would be unlawfully imported into the United States.

In addition, due to a key investigation conducted by law enforcement authorities, it was determined that López Lucas, was part of a large-scale drug trafficking organization (the «Organization») operating throughout Central and North America.

The organization uses sophisticated infrastructure and methods to manufacture, acquire, store, transport and distribute multiple tons of cocaine destined for the United States.

Authorities identified López Lucas, as a member of the organization approximately since January 2017 until at least December 2019. Therefore, establishing that López Lucas was the one responsible for transporting and directing part of the organization’s drug trafficking activities in Guatemala.
