Mrs. María Consuelo Porras Argueta, Attorney General of the Republic and Chief of the Public Ministry, held a coordination meeting with District Prosecutors from across the country to follow up on institutional strengthening actions aimed at ensuring the continuity of efficient and quality service.

In the meeting, she was accompanied by the Secretary-General, Mr. Angel Pineda; Deputy Secretaries-General; Chief Administrative Officer; Regional Prosecutors of the Metropolitan Regional Coordination; Regional Prosecutors from the North, Northeast, Southeast, South, West Central, West, and Petén areas; as well as the Coordinator of the Fiscal Information System and Technical, Chief of the Information and Press Department, and the Director of the Training Unit.

During the meeting, the work of the District Prosecutors who have demonstrated a high level of effectiveness in their duties in 2023 was acknowledged, benefiting the Guatemalan population. The recognized district prosecutors were from Jutiapa, Escuintla, and Izabal.

Under the administration of Mrs. María Consuelo Porras Argueta, the Public Ministry has reduced a 98% backlog of cases from previous administrations and resolved 96% of newly filed cases.
