The Human Trafficking Prosecutor’s Office coordinated the apprehension of a teacher accused of committing four crimes against eight girls
Following a complaint filed in May of this year, the Human Trafficking Prosecutor’s Office, through the Unit against Sexual Exploitation of Children Online and with the support of the Special Investigation Unit of the National Civil Police, carried out the corresponding investigation and coordinated, on Friday, November 3, the apprehension of Dennis Tucubal Larios.
In addition, based on the evidence presented, he was charged with the crimes of possession of pornographic material of minors with special aggravating circumstances, child pornography with special aggravating circumstances in real competition, rape with special aggravating circumstances and sexual assault with aggravating circumstances.
Per request of the Prosecutor`s Office, he was remanded in custody and the Guatemalan Human Trafficking Specialized Court, granted a period of three months to conclude the investigation.
The investigation of the case was initiated after the complaint of the mother of a girl, victim of Tucubal Larios, who, taking advantage of his position as a teacher in a school in the department of Chimaltenango, under threats of making her fail the grade, had asked her to send him photographs with sexual content, for which he gave her a cell phone.
During the course of the investigation, the existence of seven other victims of the accused was established. The girls, aged between 7 and 8 years, have already been identified, their statements have been taken and they have been provided with comprehensive care and support by the Prosecutor’s Office.
Currently, the Public Ministry has identified a total of eight girls, who were allegedly abused by Tucubal Larios.
