The Public Ministry, through the Prosecutor’s Office against Drug Trafficking Crimes with inter-institutional coordination through the Inter-institutional Center against Drug Trafficking in Guatemala (CICNAG), led the seizure of a drug shipment valued at more than $ 3.3 million.

The prosecution team, with the support of elements of the National Civil Police, inspected the illegal vessel and found that 248 packages with presumed cocaine content were being transported, in consonance with the field test. According to the prosecutor’s office, this shipment has an approximate value of more than $3.3 million US dollars.

In addition to the seizure of the drugs, the apprehensions of two Ecuadorians who were on board the vessel were coordinated, one of them was taken to a medical center with police custody, as he had severe burns.
