The Public Ministry of Guatemala, through the Women’s Prosecutor’s Agency in Zacapa, succeeded in having the Femicide and other forms of Violence against Women Tribunal in that department sentence Santos Domingo Pérez Ramírez to 13 years and 4 months of imprisonment for the crime of rape with aggravation of the penalty. In late May 2020, in the backyard of his house located in the Canoguitas village, Zacapa, he forcibly committed the crime against the victim, who subsequently became pregnant.
