Public Ministry Honors and Recognizes Personnel Concluding Their Institutional Service
The Public Ministry conducted the 2025 Voluntary Retirement Protocolary Act, a solemn and meaningful ceremony dedicated to recognizing the dedication, commitment, and professional trajectory of employees who have voluntarily concluded their working lives in service to the institution.
The event was presided over by the Attorney General of the Republic and Chief of the Public Ministry, Ms. María Consuelo Porras Argueta, who stated that this tribute represents a sincere expression of gratitude to those who, over the years, contributed through their work to strengthening the justice system and serving the Guatemalan population.
During her remarks, the Attorney General emphasized that each employee has been a fundamental part of the history of the Public Ministry, and that their work made it possible for justice to reach more citizens, thereby strengthening public trust in the institution. She also noted that the voluntary retirement program, established under the Collective Bargaining Agreement signed between the Public Ministry and the Workers’ Union, constitutes a demonstration of respect, recognition, and appreciation for a professional career built with responsibility and a vocation for public service.
For his part, the Administrative Director of the Public Ministry, Mr. Jonas Hernández, indicated that this act goes beyond a formal protocolary event by placing people at the center and recognizing not only their professional performance, but also their human qualities. He highlighted that the voluntary retirement benefit allows employees to close one stage of life with dignity and provides the opportunity to begin a new chapter dedicated to family, personal projects, and new life goals.
Both authorities agreed that the true value of the Public Ministry lies in its people—those who, through their daily work, made the growth and strengthening of the institution possible. This tribute reaffirms the institutional commitment to recognizing its personnel and ensuring that the conclusion of their working lives is carried out in a fair, respectful, and humane manner.
The event was also attended by Ms. Julia María Juárez Sagüil, Second Deputy Secretary General; Ms. Vivian Amabilia García González, Director of Human Resources; Ms. Ana Mellisa Contreras Solano de Oscal, Acting Head of the Department of Personnel Actions; and Mr. Juan Luis Pantaleón González, Senior Advisor.
