Attorney General of the Republic and Chief of the Public Ministry nf Guatemala, Mrs. María Consuelo Porras Argueta, Launches Anti-Drug Exhibit and CICNAG Button to Fight Narcotics Crimes
The Public Ministry of Guatemala, under the leadership of Mrs. María Consuelo Porras Argueta, inaugurated the EXPO “Understanding the Drug Trafficking Phenomenon in Guatemala”, aimed at strengthening the investigative and prosecutorial skills of PM personnel in cases related to narcotics crimes.
Organized by the Prosecutor’s Office for Narcotics Crimes, the exhibit provides modules on the evolution of drug trafficking in Guatemala, social and health impacts, drug production and processing, transport methods, and consumer distribution, along with crime scene examples and specialized equipment needed for proper evidence collection.
Key PM departments participating include Dicri, DAC, and Unicap, providing technical, scientific, and strategic support to enhance criminal investigations.
As part of the initiative, the CICNAG Anti‑Narcotics Button was presented—a technological tool enabling citizens to report drug-related crimes anonymously or openly, allowing for timely institutional response. CICNAG, established under Mrs. Porras Argueta, serves as a strategic coordination hub among the Public Ministry, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of National Defense, SAT, INACIF, and the Judicial Branch, strengthening the fight against criminal networks.
The exhibit will remain open throughout March at the Prosecutor’s Office for Narcotics Crimes in Zone 15, Guatemala City, providing PM personnel with critical tools and knowledge to combat drug trafficking and protect Guatemalan society.
